Yorkshire's property industry shoots and scores with £63,000 charity fundraiser

This year’s Yorkshire Property Charity Lunch raised a record £63,238 for The Yorkshire Property Charitable Trust and its charity partner, The Teenage Cancer Trust.

Candid PR provided PR and social media support via Linkedin to help promote both the event and The Yorkshire Property Charitable Trust.  

Prior to the lunch, the annual football fixture was played between property professionals and property agents at The John Charles Centre for Sport. This year’s fixture was won by the professionals and was their first victory in five years. 

The agents’ team was managed for the third year by Clair McGowan from CBRE with Gavin Wainwright from property consultancy, Wainwrights in charge of the professionals, which included architects, developers and engineers.

Following the match, the luncheon was held at the First Direct Arena to mark the event’s twentieth anniversary and was attended by more than 500 members of the region’s property community.

Guest speakers included ex-cricketer and former England Women's Academy head coach, Paul Shaw and professional rugby league coach and former player, Tony Smith.

Six prizes were also auctioned by James Pank from Auction House raising £10,250. These included a box with a meal and drinks for a choice of acts at the First Direct Arena, a week at Marriott's Grand Chateau in Las Vegas, stalls tickets and a box at the Teenage Cancer Trust concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall, a half day adventure experience at the Graythwaite Estate near Windermere, and a night at Langdale Hotel & Spa.

The Yorkshire Property Charitable Trust was set up in 2015 and has raised more than £600,000 for a huge range of local charities and good causes. Anyone working in the region’s property industry can apply for funding or suggest worthwhile causes for the charity’s trustees to consider.

We’ve recently supported all types of causes, from helping families who suddenly find themselves needing specialist equipment following lifechanging accidents, through to donating to local charities including the likes of Andy’s Man Club, MNDA, Maggie’s, Mencap Leeds, Yorkshire Cancer Research, Martin House Children’s Hospice and Flourishing Families.
