About Candid Pr

Steve Wright and Emma Mortimer founded candid PR in 2009. Both worked at several big name PR firms before taking the plunge and quitting their secure agency jobs in the midst of the worst recession for a generation.

The company’s ethos has always been about offering straightforward advice and generating great results. Sadly, if you want a PR company that spends your budget throwing glamorous parties, creating endless reports and billing you for their time rather than their results, then we’re not the firm for you.

But, if you want to raise awareness of your business or product, enhance your reputation, generate enquiries and ultimately grow your bottom line, then we can definitely help.

After we have wowed you with our amazing pitch, we won’t then disappear off into the sunset leaving you to deal with the work experience kid and we won’t need our hand holding throughout every project. We take pride in making your life as easy as possible and continually use our initiative and tenacity to get the job done, achieving superb results that will make your competitors weep green with envy.

We’re very cost-effective too. Bill Gates famously said if he was down to his last dollar, he’d spend it on PR, now in this day and age a dollar won’t get you very far, but our services are not as expensive as you might think.

We are also very flexible and can work on individual projects and well as ongoing campaigns, although it’s fair to say that the majority of our clients are retained ones, as they can see the value in the work we do and the fee we charge.

Having managed a mixed portfolio of B2B and B2C accounts over the last fifteen years at leading agencies in Yorkshire, Emma has a wide range of PR and marketing experience working for big name national consumer brands as well as for some of Yorkshire's most respected professional services, property and owner managed firms. She has a proven track record for delivering excellent results and has been recognised by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, both regionally and nationally, for her work for Army recruitment with an Outstanding Young Communicator award. With excellent organisational skills, plenty of enthusiasm, and a drive to consistently provide first rate PR solutions to the firm's much-valued clients, Emma thoroughly enjoys seeing how the work Candid PR does positively impacts on a business.
